We were planning a 2nd New Hampshire Cannabis Conference for Saturday, September 12, but unfortunately the plans did not materialize and the event has been cancelled. But don’t despair — we have developed another plan for that afternoon, and we think it’s going to be a lot of fun!
Please consider joining us at Pembroke City Limits (134 Main St., Suncook) for an extra special “Buds and Brews” beginning at 1pm. The theme will be “Let New Hampshire Grow,” and the event will feature a “Cannabis Conversation” with Dr. Riley Kirk and former N.H. state Rep. Ted Wright, followed by Q&A.
Admission is free. We will plan to introduce the speakers and begin the conversation at 1:15pm, and we hope to see you there!
Let N.H. Grow — A Cannabis Conversation
Why is home cultivation of cannabis still a crime in the “Live Free or Die” state? And why is this issue so important to New Hampshire patients and advocates? Let’s discuss! The conversation will feature two thoughtful and compelling perspectives on the issue, followed by audience Q&A. Here are our two featured guests:
Dr. Riley Kirk is a cannabis scientist and educator with a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences, specializing in natural product chemistry. She has studied the traditional and modern uses of medicinal plants and works to make scientific knowledge more accessible and applicable. Riley is a podcast host, content creator, author of the book Reefer Wellness, adjunct professor, and cofounder of the cannabis research nonprofit NAP (Network of Applied Pharmacognosy), where she focuses on advancing science through clear communication and collaboration.
Ted Wright is a former two-term N.H. state representative (2012-2016) and a longtime supporter of therapeutic cannabis. He is also a longtime caregiver for his wife, who battled cancer for decades, and he cosponsored the medical cannabis bill that became law in 2013. Ted was an outspoken advocate for home grow legislation throughout his time in the N.H. legislature — unfortunately, the bills did not pass, so he and his wife moved to Maine, where home cultivation is legal.
