With 7/10 approaching, we wanted to spotlight the person who is primarily responsible for the incredible concentrates we produce. Meet Austin, our Lab Manager!
Austin was attending college as an engineering student when he developed a strong interest in cannabis extraction and left school to pursue it. He developed expertise in this area through hands-on experience and mentorship while working at cannabis companies in Maine and Massachusetts.
Austin joined the team at GraniteLeaf in 2021 after seeing a job posting for a lab role at our production facility. He was happy for the opportunity to return to New Hampshire and make an impact on the growing industry here. At the time, GraniteLeaf only produced solvent-extracted products, such as shatter and diamonds, but we had a vision to expand our offerings.
Austin’s knowledge and experience were essential in creating our solventless live rosin product line, along with his partner in the lab, David. Today, our Lab team works closely with the Cultivation team to select high-quality cannabis cultivars that are ideal for producing live rosin products. Austin is proud to have pioneered the development of outstanding live rosin products in New Hampshire, and he loves hearing positive feedback from patients who have found them beneficial. He especially enjoys working with product blends, such as the new Melonade, noting the creative challenge of combining rosin from different cultivars to create thoughtfully balanced terpene profiles.
After nearly five years with GraniteLeaf, Austin is grateful for the company’s personable approach and commitment to craft quality in the cannabis industry. He says the Peterborough team’s strength is in multitasking and helping the other departments when assistance is needed.
