At GraniteLeaf, we care deeply about helping patients make informed decisions about therapeutic cannabis products. That’s why we’ve decided to improve how we share information about the effects of our cultivars! Over the next few weeks, you’ll start to see these changes both in our dispensaries and on our website.
Understanding Cultivar Effects
When selecting cannabis products, it’s helpful to have an idea of the potential effects and benefits. While everyone’s experience with cannabis is unique, there are some general indicators that can help guide your choices.
Traditional labels like indica, sativa, and hybrid can offer some direction, but they may not accurately predict how a specific cultivar will make you feel.
To better understand and communicate the effects of our cultivars, we rely on three key factors:
- Breeder-provided cultivar information (genetic lineage, etc.)
- Cannabinoid and terpene testing results (in NH, every batch is lab-tested)
- Reported experiences from our patients
Updated Effect Terminology
Along with a refreshed look, we’re also refining the language we use to describe cultivar effects.
Previously, we used terms like sedating, calming, stimulating, and uplifting. While helpful, we’ve found that more familiar, experience-based terms better reflect how patients describe their experiences.
Our updated effect terminology includes:
- Pain Relief
- Hungry
- Sleepy
- Relaxed
- Blissful
- Creative
- Energetic
