What Are The Best Storage Practices?
It is crucial to store cannabis products properly to maintain quality, potency, and safety. Cannabis that is exposed to air, light, heat, and humidity will degrade over time, reducing the aroma, flavor, and therapeutic benefits. Cannabis has the potential to grow mold or mildew if it is stored in an environment of high heat and humidity. It is important to keep cannabis products, especially edibles, stored in a secure place where they are safe from children and pets. Storing cannabis in airtight containers in a dark and cool environment is the best way to keep your high-quality, New Hampshire grown products fresh.
Flower & Pre-Rolls
- Store in an airtight container like a mason jar or plastic storage container
- Best stored at or below room temperature
- Keep in a dark place to minimize light exposure
- Add a boveda or other humidity pack to prevent drying out
Vapes
- Store at room temperature
- Keep the vape cartridge in an upright position
- Do not keep in a hot or cold environment (especially a car)
- If the vape is hot or cold, allow it to come to room temperature before using
- Turn off battery when it’s in a pocket or bag
- If you have different vape cartridges, put them back in their labeled packaging so they don’t get mixed up
Concentrates
- Keep in an airtight container like the original packaging or transfer into a dab container
- Store at room temperature if you are using it soon
- If you are storing long-term, especially live rosin concentrates, keep them in the fridge
- Before opening the container, let the product acclimate to room temperature to prevent condensation from affecting the quality
Edibles
- It is always best to keep products in an airtight bag or container
- Do not leave edibles in heat because they may melt
- Do not store edibles with snacks or easily accessible food
- Baked Goods: Best stored long term in the freezer
- Chocolates: Best stored long term in the fridge
- Fruit Chews: Best stored at room temperature or in the fridge if it’s hot out (We do not recommend freezing these). Chews stored in the fridge will be firmer than at room temperature.
- Honey: Best stored at room temperature (the fridge/freezer is not recommended)
- Lozenges: Best stored in a cool space with low moisture/humidity (the fridge/freezer is not recommended)
Tinctures
- Store most at room temperature
- We recommend storing acidic tinctures (THCA Sativa, THCA/THC Sativa, Golden Ratio) in the refrigerator for preservation
- Store upright to prevent possible leaking
Topicals, Transdermals, and Suppositories
- Store at room temperature
- If the roll on Warming Topical is too hard it can be warmed using body heat
- The coconut oil salve will be softer when it’s warm and harder when it’s cool
- Store the transdermal cream in an upright position to prevent leaking
Always keep cannabis products away from children and pets, especially edibles!
When traveling in a vehicle, put cannabis in a locked container, the trunk, or at least out of reach from the driver.
Storing cannabis products properly maintains the quality, potency, and safety.
