What is Edible Cannabis Oil?

400mg Edible Cannabis Oil - Sativa

Edible cannabis oil is a highly concentrated oil in an oral syringe that you can use for making homemade edibles or other infused products. The oil has been decarboxylated, so the THCA and CBDA have been converted into THC and CBD — this means the oil does not need to be heated to become active. The oil can be used with any recipe that calls for butter, oil, or any other type of fat. Cannabinoids are fat-soluble, so they blend well with food items when used in this way. Our edible cannabis oil makes the process easy. You can see what types we have available on our menu under “Extract.”

Step by Step

1. Determine an appropriate volume of oil, butter, honey, etc.

2. Warm your chosen food product in a double boiler, in a saucepan on very low heat, or soften in a microwave. Be careful of the temperature getting too hot.

3. Add the full contents of the edible cannabis oil (400mg) and mix them together thoroughly.

4. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.

5. If you are adding your infused product to a recipe, you may do so now.

6. Depending on what you’re making, you may divide the infused product before or after cooking. Be sure to keep careful track of your measurements so you know the potency of each serving.

Dosing

400mg = 80 x 5mg doses

400mg = 40 x 10mg doses

400mg = 20 x 20mg doses

400mg = 8 x 50mg doses

Infused Coconut Oil

Coconut oil can be a great medium for cannabis infused products because it can be used in the solid or liquid state and it can be used as an edible, tincture, or topical. You can use a recipe for a baked good with coconut oil or add a measured dose of oil to a food you are cooking. Coconut oil in the liquid form can be used as a tincture if applied as drops under the tongue. If you do this, be mindful of the dose of the product you’ve created. Coconut oil based topicals can be used in the liquid form as a massage oil or even a personal lubricant. In addition, the solid form of coconut oil can make a great salve.

Notes

      • Milligrams (mg) and Milliliters (mL) are not the same. The oral syringe with the edible cannabis oil is marked with milliliters (mL), a measure of volume, and this does not indicate how many milligrams (mg) of THC are in the syringe.

        • The oral syringe may contain between 3.5mL and 4.5mL of decarboxylated edible cannabis oil. This will always be 400mg (mass, weight) of cannabinoids in the decarboxylated syringe, despite the variability of volume.

          • Dosing or splitting the contents directly from the oral syringe is not recommended, due to the likelihood of inaccurate dosing. Always infuse into a known volume of a food product.

            • A double boiler can be made with a Pyrex bowl that fits inside the opening of a saucepan, but doesn’t sit all the way on the bottom. Simply add water to the saucepan and heat it to warm the bowl.
